AI-Driven Wholesale Broadband Assurance Catalyst Reaches the Business Gamechanger Finals at TM Forum’s DTW Ignite 2026
July 20, 2026 - MUNICH, GERMANY -Telecommunications software leader Axiros, announced that the TM Forum Catalyst “Wholesale Broadband as a Service: The Future of Service Assurance – Phase III” it co-delivered together with Vodafone, BT Group, CityFibre, Comarch, Lyse, Deutsche Glasfaser Business, Altice Labs, Alvatross, Amartus, Zira, and NetworkedAssets, was named a finalist in the Business Gamechanger category at DTW Ignite 2026, held 23–25 June in Copenhagen under the theme “The Future. Faster.”
Wholesale broadband has standardized how services are ordered and provisioned, but service assurance remains fragmented across hundreds of service provider (ServCo) and network provider (NetCo) relationships worldwide. When a customer reports a fault, resolution still depends on partner-specific integrations, manual triage, repeated handoffs, and limited cross-domain visibility — so SLAs are missed and customers are left waiting.
Phase III tackles that final, most complex stage of the wholesale broadband lifecycle. Using Agentic AI, TM Forum Open APIs and Open Digital Architecture (ODA) principles, the Catalyst enables customer-centric fault management across the ServCo/NetCo boundary, automating diagnosis, collaboration and resolution while preserving each partner’s commercial confidentiality. AI agents exchange only structured, standardized information across domains.
The project demonstrated a step-change in operations, including:
Fault resolution reduced from days to hours - and in cases to minutes, with the customer kept informed throughout
Up to 50% cost efficiency when integrating new wholesale partners, with N×M point-to-point integrations replaced by a single reusable profile
At least 30% lower trouble-ticket handling cost through AI-agent automation of root-cause analysis and resolution
Improved customer satisfaction and reduced churn through faster, more transparent restoration
“Being named a finalist in the Business Gamechanger category reflects a problem the whole industry feels: assurance across wholesale partners is still too manual and too fragmented,” said Michael Meister, Technical Account Manager at Axiros. “By grounding this work in TM Forum Open APIs and adding AI agents at the boundary between service and network providers, we showed that faults can be diagnosed and resolved far faster, with far less friction over who owns the problem. The recognition aligns with the direction of DTW Ignite 2026, where TM Forum structured its flagship event around three Mission Summits — Autonomous Networks, Composable IT & Ecosystems, and AI & Data — and pushed the industry from proof-of-concept toward deployment at scale. Building on Phase I (a common wholesale broadband product model, 2024) and Phase II (automated order-to-provisioning, 2025), Phase III completes the lifecycle with a standards-based service assurance layer, and contributes back to the standards through the new TMFC047 Party Problem Management ODA component.
